    October Athlete of the Month- Michelle Rigney

    Congratulations to Michelle for becoming our break out athlete this month. Her story is one of inspiration and extreme determination. She proves that when you come in and “leave it all on the mat” you’ll see results much quicker than expected. In less than 2 months she’s seen such transformation and has found a community of friends that was an unexpected surprise. Here’s what she has to say about her time with us at CrossFit Zachary.
    “After years of struggling with my weight, I decided to do something crazy and join CrossFit Zachary. It turned out not to be so crazy after all , and instead has been a life changer for me. My first thought when I walked into the gym was that there was no way I could do this. Somehow, I completed my first WOD that day. I was soaked in sweat, my body was in shock and it took everything in me not to throw up. But beyond all that was this amazing group of people cheering me on and all of a sudden I no longer felt alone in my struggle. That was all it took! It has been just a little over two months since I joined. I can see and feel a transformation in my body. I have lost 30 pounds, I am stronger than I have ever been and ever thought I could be. The workouts are challenging and there are still days that it takes everything in me not to throw up but I walk away every time feeling empowered by my strength and ability to push through which has transferred from the gym into my daily life. CrossFit Zachary has transformed me physically and mentally. The environment is amazing, the coaches are with you through every step of your journey. It’s like one big family cheering each other on. My journey has just begun, I look forward to the day I can do a strict pull up on the rig or climb the rope to the top…both of which I know now are absolutely possible!”
