    February Spotlight Athlete

    Lisa and her son Brandon Oliveaux are this months spotlight athletes. They both have been part of the CFZ community for over two years.

    Started your journey at CFZ: Sept 2012

    Snatch: 45 lb I think

    Clean: 85 lb I think

    Married to: Walter

    Children: Brandon-16 & Kaitlyn-13

    School: graduated from LSU-NO

    Occupation: Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Lane Regional Medical Center

    How/Why did you start CrossFit Zachary? I was turning 40 and finally ready to make time to improve myself.
    First CrossFit WOD? IDK Brandon and I came with Spence to a community WOD.
    What has improved since starting CFZ? Better eating habits and more energy.
    How has CF changed your life? For years I had (almost daily) headaches, but CFZ is the best stress reliever I’ve found and now much fewer headaches!

    Do you have a favorite WOD or movement? Not really

    What are your short-term and long-term CF Goals? Recent cold weather and kids’ activities have made it harder for us to get here……so short-term is to get back to regular attendance. Long-term is pull-ups with NO band.
    What’s one thing most people don’t know about you? I enjoy making scrapbooks of my kids’ old pictures.

    How/Why did you start CrossFit Zachary? Rehab and strengthen broken arm after surgery.
    First CrossFit WOD? A community WOD with my friend Spence. It kicked my butt.
    What has improved since starting CFZ? Everything
    How has CF changed your life? I have a whole new family of friends

    Do you have a favorite WOD or movement? Double-unders and Annie
    What are your short-term and long-term CF Goals? Short-term is to eat better. Long-term is Handstand walk, and Handstand push-up, and Handstand.
    What’s one thing most people don’t know about you? WFFD Volunteer Firefighter and First Responder
