It’s that time of year where we all look back to see what was good and what was not so good. Are there things we did right and are there things we could have done better? Of course if CrossFit is what you did all year then you’re also asking yourself did I get any P.R.’s? Did my conditioning get better? Did I show up to the box as much as I could have? These are all good questions. These are questions that people all around the world are asking themselves. But what’s more important is how we react to the answers. Though the year may not have brought the desired results it brought results none the less, that if used properly, can shape us and form us into a better person. Take what happened this year, the good, the bad, and everything in between and learn from it. Let it propel you forward to whatever is next. Don’t stop at what you think is a negative result.
We’re taking some time to at CFZ to look back at the year. I’m sure there may be some things we could have done better but there are a few things that we’re most excited about. We started out the year with the best participation during the “CrossFit Open.” Lots of athletes accomplished things they didn’t think they could and every Friday night friends and family came to watch the athletes give their all. We welcomed a few new staff members this year as well. Kelbert came to us from Tulsa and brought 5 years of experience of building a box from 3 to over 200. He’s helped us in more ways than one and we’re grateful to have him. Huey has been around the box for a few years now and in addition to being one of our strongest athletes at the box, he quickly joined our coaching staff and became a favorite right away. You’ll also find he and Fabian fixing this and that and making sure the place is running smoothly.
We ended the year with our annual Christmas party which if you missed it, you missed amazing food and all around good fun.
It’s been a great year. But we’re not stopping now. We’ll take the day off tomorrow and only do evening classes on Tuesday the 2nd then hit the ground running again on the 3rd. We won’t be satisfied with where we’re at and neither should you. The 2018 CrossFit Open series is just around the corner and we’re in intense training mode and can’t wait to attack the WOD’s. We also have a few other things up our sleeves that we’ll share with you soon. For now, Happy New Year!
